See how Lady Gaga nails classic Italian beauty looks for House of Gucci

All looks were created using her own beauty brand, Haus Laboratories

In case you haven’t been paying attention, the trailer for Lady Gaga’s latest film, House of Gucci, is finally here.

Besides featuring countless high fashion looks and one very questionable Italian accent by Gaga, the crime drama trailer sees the musician and actor nail Italian beauty during her portrayal of the murderous socialite, Patrizia Reggiani.

In the two-minute clip, Gaga wears dark arched brows and a dark curly bob, smudgy black liner, and overlined lips in deep red and mauve – an ode to classic Italian glamour as seen on movie stars Isabella Rossellini and Sophia Loren in the 80s and 90s.

Lucky for us – according to Gaga’s long-term make-up artist Sarah Thano, who painted the pop star for the movie –each of her looks were created entirely using Gaga’s vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand, Haus Laboratories

According to a post by Haus Labs’ Twitter, Gaga’s heavily-memed ski-slope press shot look alongside her love interest in the film, Adam Driver (who plays Maurizio Gucci), was created using the brand’s Eye-dentify kohl gel liner and Liquid Eye-lie-ner on eyes, RIP lip liner in Arc and Le Monster lip crayon in Talk Dirty on lips, and Head Rush blush in Cherub on cheeks.

Gaga launched Haus Laboratories in 2019 as a way to champion self-acceptance and freedom of expression through beauty. “When I was young, I never felt beautiful,” she wrote on Instagram alongside the brand’s first campaign. “And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup.”

She continued: “I've come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform.” If that means transforming into an opulent killer ex-wife then, TBH, we’re here for it.

Besides her House of Gucci transformation, Gaga opted for a stripped-back look starring as Ally in A Star Is Born in 2018. In American Horror Story’s Hotel, however, she wore bleached brows, winged liner, and blood red lips to portray the sexy vampire Countess. Read more about the look here.
