Soundtracked to the country song "God Made Girls" by RaeLynn, TikTok users have been transforming themselves into their “Republican-sonas” AKA their Republican personas, which mostly appears to involve doing themselves up with expired make-up poorly applied. In order to achieve this Republican look, which has been heavily influenced by Fox News anchors and the women of the Trump administration such as Kayleigh Mcenany and Kellyanne Conway, TikTok users pack on the bronzer, the unflattering shades of pale pink lipstick, and the clumpy mascara. They remove facial piercings, add an aggressive amount of blush and don a blonde wig. And voilà – they are now ready to spout regressive opinions on universal health care and complain to the manager. Tiktok/@el0wyn In response to the “Republican-sonas” trend, some right-wing TikTok users attempted to flip the script and mock “liberal” make-up trends which they’ve mainly taken to mean an alternative e-girl look. Unfortunately for them, with their newly applied rosy cheeks and sharp eyeliner, many commenters pointed out that they actually looked better than before. “Wait this is such a glow up,” wrote one TikTok user on syd.thekiddo's “Liberal-sona” video.
