The new Kylie Skin product just dropped for $7 (£5), leading people to say that the beauty mogul is ‘profiting off a pandemic’
What’s going on with the Kardashian/Jenner clan? As always, something. Kim and Kanye are allegedly getting divorced after the latter was rumoured to cheat with Jeffree Star, and the Capitol building in Washington DC after Kendall Jenner decided not to show up and diffuse tension with cans of Pepsi.
Now, Kylie Jenner is finding herself embroiled in scandal too after announcing the launch of a new Kylie Skin product, luxury hand sanitiser. Retailing for a pricey $7 (£5), the new product can be bought comparably from supermarkets for a fraction of the price, prompting people to say that Jenner is ‘profiting off a pandemic’.
“Kylie Jenner said a billion dollars is not enough lmao let me keep capitalizing off of poor people in the middle of a pandemic,” said @aleeyahmarie in a thread that criticised Jenner for using her name to sell a necessity for a hiked price. Other criticised the hand sanitiser for being only 80 per cent alcohol, though the FDA recommends above 60 per cent for effective use against the virus.
However, not everyone agreed. @xChocoBear pointed out that Kylie Skin donated hand sanitiser to the hospital she works at earlier in the pandemic last year, showing it off in a picture. Ohers agreed – “Before she started selling the hand sanitizer she made it at the beginning of the pandemic and donated tons of it,” said @SammyD71. “Now people are giving her a hard time? People should get their facts straight first.”
