Announced over the weekend, the creative was best known for his 90s glam looks for Aaliyah, and the cause of his death is still currently. unknown. If you don’t recognise Ferrell by name, you’ll definitely recognise his work with Aaliyah, creating looks for “Try Again” and “We Need A Resolution” as well as her always impeccable and iconic eyebrows (see evidence below). “The whole look we did for the “We Need A Resolution” video came from stuff that I saw on the runway from Alexander McQueen and John Galliano,” he told Vibe in 2016. “Every idea I brought to (Aaliyah), she was like, ‘Well why don’t we do this too?’”. Throughout his career, Ferrell also worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Solange, Macy Gray, and TLC. More recently, he became the lead creative on the MAC x Aaliyah collection that dropped in 2018.
