Not only did the singer announce her third album, and first in five years, revealing the cover and tracklist for the record coming September 13 but she also dropped the video for her latest single “Blame It On Your Love” featuring Lizzo. Directed by Bradley & Pablo, fresh off of Rosalia’s ode to nails “Aute Cuture,” the video opens as a take-off of Calvin Klein’s #MyCalvins campaign (“I evolved in 2023”), as an otherworldly cast of characters is introduced. There’s Karla and Anika the fertility nymphs, and Melissa and Clara the K9 filterheads (imagine the Master from Buffy but if dogs and not bats were the source of vampires). Then there’s Dee and Kai, angelic intimacy revivalists; and Z, Tommy and Lula, polyamorous sea level survivalists. The video is a celebration of love in all it’s weird and wonderful forms – messy, imperfect, beautiful, boundless. Body modification takes centre stage with incredible prosthetics from Emily Schubert and Izzi Galindo, everything from elf ears to aquatic and canine-inspired looks. Juan Alvear is back with Bradley & Pablo after collaborating with them on “Aute Cuture” creating his signature fantastical nails, while Evanie Frausto heads up hair and creative direction from our very own Bunny Kinney.
