From crystals to colour therapy, in this section, we'll be hosting a series of interactive quizzes designed to help you on your way to reaching ultimate wellness. Chromotherapy, otherwise known as colour therapy, is the practice that uses both colour and light to promote healing and activate the body's natural functions. First practised by the ancient Egyptians, early chromotherapists would use coloured glass and light from the sun, aiming the healing rays onto the person in need. Others were known to drape their bodies in coloured silk and then step out into the sunlight. In more modern times, chromotherapy is used by the likes of ChromaYoga: an East London based yoga studio that uses colour, light and sound to stimulate the brain, creating a multi-sensory experience. It can also be found in LED illuminated saunas. These medical-grade saunas use infrared rays to restore the body to health and harmony and have been used by people ranging from those with chronic illnesses to anyone just generally run down. According to research, the frequency of each colour has different effects on the body. Blue light, for example, which infiltrates the body via laptops, television and phone screens, can leave us lacking in melatonin and disrupt our natural circadian rhythms. Therefore, by using warmer colours such as red and yellow, chromotherapists believe the body can be brought back to balance. Take this quiz to find out which colour will be most beneficial to you. No matter how much I get I’m always tired. Like a baby on cough syrup. Irregularly, but you can sleep when you’re dead! I find it difficult to get to sleep, I quit coffee and I’m still wired… I hit snooze at least 15 times every morning. How does your skin look? Dull. I’m still waiting for that glow up. Blotchy. Mr Blobby style. Thin, like cling film. Puffy. Bring on the contouring. Tired, like a well-worn rug. What is your most common affliction? Colds and fatigue, even though I pop vitamins like candy. Problems with digestion, to put it nicely. Inflamed muscles… but like, not from exercise. Achy joints, am I getting old? High blood pressure. It runs in the family… For a healthy and fulfilled life, what’s more important? Feeling energised. I long for a spring in my step. Positivity: good vibes man! Inner peace…Feeling calm is paramount. A sense of balance—all things in moderation. Feeling alert. Hidden Tiger Crouching Dragon style. Retake the Quiz Escape the algorithm!
