The store, named Château éphémère (The Ephemeral Castle) in homage to Howl’s Moving Castle, will stock products inspired by iconic films from the Japanese animation house. Totoro dolls, bento boxes, stationary, Cat Bus toys and Spirited Away music boxes will be among a plethora of Ghibli gifts to buy. Though it won’t be on the same scale as the Ghibli retrospective exhibit in Japan, where visitors enjoyed a 2,500 item collection and a Castle in the Sky-inspired menu, it will be one of the biggest collections of items this side of the western hemisphere. The pop-up will set up shop on 26 rue Charles Baudelaire, in the 12th arrondissement, temporarily from October 22 to December 3. Visit the Facebook event page to find out more.
