Three employees at London-based estate agents Foxtons have been fired after a fight broke out at a Class War activist’s protest.

Video footage shows the men in suits from Foxton’s Islington branch clashing with masked protestors. The police are present and attempt to intervene to break up several scuffles.

According to the Evening Standard, the Upper Street branch closed early on July 15 after growing concerns surrounding the demo, which was in response to Boris Johnson’s appointment as Foreign Secretary. Class War is a political organisation focusing on issues of corruption, oligarchy and elitism in government.

Video of the incident appears to show an estate agent, who may be drunk, shouting “Oh Boris I love you” as he passed through the crowd. Another estate agent and activist are then shown physically fighting. Both the agents and the protestors are shown to attack the police. Purple flares were also let off at the scene.

Three men have since been charged with assault by beating, assault of a constable in the execution of his duty and on suspicion of assault on police.

When Dazed reached out for comment, a spokesperson gave their general statement: “We were extremely disappointed to learn of this incident. Foxtons absolutely does not condone this sort of behaviour. We pride ourselves on the professionalism of our agents and this isolated incident was treated with the utmost severity.

“We can confirm that following an internal investigation, those employees found responsible are no longer working for the company.”

Dazed contacted Class War but are yet to receive a response.
