In what is perhaps the biggest slice of Twin Peaks-related news since word got out of its revival, Amanda Seyfried is rumoured to star in the new series of the cult mystery show.
TV Line reports that Seyfried – whose notable film credits include Les Miserables and Mamma Mia! – will play a “major role” in the series, with some fans speculating that she will play the daughter of Agent Dale Cooper and Annie Blackburn.
Seyfried joins returning members of the original cast including Kyle Maclachlan, Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn for the surprise third season of the show, which is currently filming in Washington state.
The series, which will be directed in its entirety by David Lynch, was originally announced for a nine-episode run in 2016, but is now expected to run longer than scheduled.
