The Channel 4 programme, created by Dennis Kelly, won many admirers for its ambitious plot, unnerving soundtrack and futuristic Kubrick-inspired aesthetic. Utopia's plot revolves around a group of characters who are hunted relentlessly by a shadowy organisation that wants to sterlise the human race. It's notable for some stellar acting performances, including Neil Maskell as Arby, the heavy-breathing and cold-blooded assassin with a limp. Fincher told the Guardian: "I like the world of it, I like the characters – I love Dennis’s honesty and affinity for the nerds. I mean, I’ve always been a bit of a junior conspiracy theorist cos I don’t have time to connect them all! But it’s nice to see that somebody has." The Gone Girl director is set to spent the majority of 2015 working on the series, with the US version of Utopia expected to air late 2015.
