Paris-based production company Wild Bunch has announced that it's working on Spring Breakers: The Second Coming, and plans to bring the sequel to Cannes in the near future. According to Screen Daily, the sequel will see the Spring Breakers "do battle with an extreme militant Christian sect that attempts to convert them". Unfortunately, Harmony Korine won't be directing, none of the girls are set to return and James Franco won't be appearing in it. So not so much a Second Coming, then, as a new story set in the same universe of teenage girls perpetually clad in swimwear. But promisingly, Lady Gaga collaborator Jonas Akerlund (who directed the music videos for "Paparazzi" and "Telephone") will be on directing duties. And we can only imagine what Irvine Welsh would get up to with the source material. We just hope it doesn't involve another baby on the ceiling. In the meantime, enjoy one of the best scenes from the original – James Franco with his girls, singing Britney: Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREWhy did Satan start to possess girls on screen in the 70s?Learn the art of photo storytelling and zine making at Dazed+Labs8 essential skate videos from the 90s and beyond with Glue SkateboardsThe unashamedly queer, feminist, and intersectional play you need to seeParis artists are pissed off with this ‘gift’ from Jeff KoonsA Seat at the TableVinca Petersen: Future FantasySnarkitecture’s guide on how to collide art and architectureBanksy has unveiled a new anti-weapon artworkVincent Gallo: mad, bad, and dangerous to knowGet lost in these frank stories of love and lossPreview a new graphic novel about Frida Kahlo
