The 65-day trial was the longest in the history of Jamaica's court system and one of the most high profile cases in recent memory. Today, Kartel has been hit with a life sentence – or 35 years until he's eligible for parole. Of the four, Kartel's is the longest sentence – the other three have incurred life sentences of between 25-30 years before being considered for parole. The defence have indicated that they will be appealing the verdict, citing data mismanagement and inconsistencies as reasons that the verdict shouldn't be upheld.
