Clearly serving the Galactic Empire isn't taking up too much time and the Sith lord can afford to cast his attentions onto Earth (more specifically, eastern Europe). The Star Wars villain was recently voted leader of the Internet Party of Ukraine, an ostentatious yet legitimate political party, and chosen to be their candidate for presidential election. The party, which was founded in 2006 by Ukranian hacker Dmitry Golubov, claims to be the first Internet party in the world and counts Denys Grigorev, a Thai boxing world champion, among its members. The overlord has been a popular member of Ukraine's protest movements in recent months, participating in various marches in Independence Square. In November of last year, Vader was carried by his stormtroopers to Odessa Hall, Ukraine, where he declared himself mayor. Whilst this may be seen by some as an elaborate prank, the Internet Party of Ukraine have reportedly paid the $225,000 fee to register Vader as a candidate – a sum that implies this is no joke. In a party statement, Vader said "I alone can make an empire out of a republic, to restore former glory, to return lost territories and pride for this country." While some have speculated that this is a "scathing comment on the imperialist intentions" of Vladimir Putin, we're just waiting for Lex Luther, Cyril Sneer and Captain Hook to throw their hats in the ring.
