Hosting a platform as an unconstrained canvas for new ideas, Random Acts has invited the likes of Jake & Dinos Chapman, Sam Bompas & Harry Parr, and Champagne Valentine to create one off three-minute films. Airing late at night over this year, tonight on Channel 4 will be the showing of Rankin's entry entitled, 'Rachael'. Written by Irvine Welsh, 'Rachael' is a cinematic snapshot of a 1940s British family in post-war Britain, starring Holliday Grainger, Shaun Dooley, Maxine Peake, and Suki Alice Waterhouse. Taking place within the scenes of the morning routine of a family household - Mum makes breakfast. Dad reads the paper. Samantha gets ready for work but her sister, Rachael, is hogging the bathroom. Soon we see that Rachael is young, but not as innocent as her parents might hope... Directed by Rankin, the new film will be aired tonight on Channel 4.
