And why wouldn’t they? It’s also no secret that reality TV is determined to dissect every interesting part of our culture and possibly leave it in tatters. It’s not too much of a logical leap, then, to imagine the rumoured Bachelor-style artworld dating show that could be coming to our screens in the near future. Earlier this week a post was spotted on the Los Angeles Art Opportunities Facebook page – which either sounds great or very sketchy – advertising: “single Bachelors Artist between the ages of 35 and 45, above 5’7’’ and any race.” The post also specifies someone, “single, a Los Angeles local, involved in the arts community at some capacity and non-union.” If you fit that description, email with your “name, contact, full body pic of yourself and what you’re looking for in a woman,” I guess. Don’t forget to include what your role is in the art world. Everyone else that doesn’t, tragically, fit into that very specific, elite set, will just have to wait on what is hopefully going to be a fiesta of expensive wine, art openings, and romantic gossip.
