The piece, titled “REALiTi: Inside the Music of Grimes”, will reportedly allow fans to “remix” and “manipulate” the singer’s music with their bodies. According to the press release, the Art Angels track “REALiTi” will be the chosen soundtrack for the installation. “A new way to experience music, the installation will invite visitors to manipulate their surroundings as they explore an ever-evolving world,” says the project summary. “Both the visuals and the music respond intuitively to audience movements and interactions.” Grimes – who dropped her video for new single “California” yesterday – will debut the piece at North Carolina’s Moogfest festival, where she is set to headline at the end of the month. While there’s no word yet on whether the project will move to any other festivals, a preview has been unveiled by project sponsors Microsoft this morning.
