Landing just a few days after she performed the song on The Tonight Show, the video for “California” (directed by Grimes with her brother Mac) sees Claire Boucher try on a bunch of different outfits for size, including an all-American country singer, a renaissance artist, and an Elizabethan-era clown. As well as starring Boucher, the video features cameos from Mac, Purity Ring’s Megan James, and touring partner HANA, amongst others. While “California” originally appeared on last year’s Art Angels, the version featured in the new visual is an alternate take recorded especially for the video. Watch the video above.
