Landing just a few days after she performed the song on The Tonight Show, the video for “California” (directed by Grimes with her brother Mac) sees Claire Boucher try on a bunch of different outfits for size, including an all-American country singer, a renaissance artist, and an Elizabethan-era clown. As well as starring Boucher, the video features cameos from Mac, Purity Ring’s Megan James, and touring partner HANA, amongst others.
