MusicNewsWatch Grace Jones and Iggy Pop in this silent movie trailerA preview of Bjorn Tagemose’s black and white post-rockpocalyptic film ‘Gutterdammerung’ has landedShareLink copied ✔️October 13, 2015MusicNewsTextDaisy Jones In what is probably the most badass thing we’ve seen all week, the trailer for the "loudest silent movie on earth" aka Gutterdammerung has just been released, and as anticipated, it looks pretty fucking incredible. The black and white film, which was directed by Swedish visual artist and photographer Bjorn Tagemose, is meant to hark back to the early 20th century beginnings of Hollywood, in a parallel universe where God takes the Devil’s most cherished weapon from the Earth (the guitar, obvs) meaning that there is no sex, no drugs, no rock music. Most interestingly, the cinematic clip features an all-star cast, including our favourite visionary icon Grace Jones (who plays "the ultimate nemesis, an African Goddess from Hell"), punk godfather Iggy Pop (who plays "the catalyst of the story that sets the whole world on fire") and Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins (who plays a “priest Svengali"). There are also appearances from rock icons Lemmy (of Motorhead), Slash (of Guns 'n' Roses), Joshua Homme and Mark Lanegan (of Queens of the Stone Age), Nina Hagen, Jesse Hughes (of Eagles of Death Metal) and Tom Araya (of Slayer). Although we only get a glimpse of Pop and Jones in the short clip, the former seems to be wearing huge, black feathered wings whereas the latter looks like her usual wild-eyed self in a shadowy cloak.
