Music / NewsGrace Jones and Iggy Pop to star in silent movieBjorn Tagemose’s 'Gutterdammerung' is being billed as the ‘loudest silent movie on Earth’ShareLink copied ✔️July 16, 2015MusicNewsTextDazed Digital Some of pop culture’s most iconic figures are coming together to work in unlikely circumstances – on a fairytale silent movie. Directed by Swedish visual artist and photographer Bjorn Tagemose, Gutterdammerung is a throwback to the early 20th century beginnings of Hollywood and features Grace Jones, Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins. The story goes like this: God takes the devil’s most cherished weapon from the Earth – the guitar. Now on Planet Earth, there is no sex, no drugs, no rock music. Iggy Pop returns the world to its righteous state and all Hell breaks loose. Jones stars as "the ultimate nemesis, an African Goddess from Hell", Iggy plays "the catalyst of the story that sets the whole world on fire" and Rollins takes a turn as a "priest Svengali" (whatever that is). Gutterdammerung boasts visual artists who have worked closely with Louis Vuitton and Vogue, something that the filmmakers hope will offer a high-fashion aesthetic. Basically, it’s going to look shit hot. There’s no word on when it’ll come out, but we’re assured that Gutterdammerung is "coming to a Hell near you soon". Escape the algorithm!
