A lot happened at last night’s Video Music Awards; Kanye West rambled on about juice and announced his 2020 presidential run, Nicki Minaj coined the highly addictive phrase “What’s good, Miley?” and Taylor Swift won ‘Music Video of the Year’ for “Bad Blood”. And that’s without mentioning the fact that our favourite pop provocateur Miley Cyrus announced, and then released, a surprise album titled Miley Cyrus & Her Ded Petz, which was made in collaboration with The Flaming Lips, and which you can listen to for free here.

The bizarre and brilliant new release sees the singer go in a different, more DIY direction to her last swaggy, club-ready album Bangerz, and it features musical collabs with indie oddball Ariel Pink, and super-producer Mike WILL Made-It.

It was also released alongside this hilarious homemade video, where Miley starts by saying, “I might need some more marijuana,” before rubbing glitter, multi-coloured sprinkles and various gels all over her face and tongue in between smoking a huge joint.
