Music / NewsNicki Minaj called out Miley Cyrus at the VMAs“This bitch had a lot to say about me the other day in the press”ShareLink copied ✔️August 31, 2015MusicNewsTextDaisy Jones Unless you’ve been living under a Wifiless rock for the past few weeks, you’ll know that this year’s VMAs have been full to the brim with beef. To recap, earlier this month Nicki Minaj called out the awards for snubbing her video for “Anaconda” (which was not up for ‘Video of the Year’), as well as alluding to the fact that the VMAs have been historically bias against black artists. Taylor Swift then somehow thought those remarks were personally directed at her, and took aim at her on twitter, much to Nicki Minaj’s perplexity. And then, after all of this had been forgotten about, Miley Cyrus waded in to explain that she disapproves of the way Minaj handled the situation and encouraged her to "come at things with love", saying: "What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite." (Wuuut?) Needless to say, when Nicki Minaj won ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ for “Anaconda” last night, she had a few words to say about the host, Miley Cyrus. After thanking her fans and pastor, the rapper turned to Miley, who was on a nearby stage and said, “And now back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press – Miley, what’s good?” Miley Cyrus then responded with a brief explanation about the media and the music industry, saying: “We’re all in the industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate shit.” Well, that’s that then.
