FashionNewsWant Pharrell’s Chanel x adidas trainers? You’ll need £30kThe limited-edition run of 500 pairs – that are yet to be released – celebrate the Parisian brand’s takeover of coletteShareLink copied ✔️November 22, 2017FashionNewsTextDominic Cadogan When it comes to must-have items in fashion there is no ceiling to how much people will spend – especially when the item is extremely limited edition. Only last week a Louis Vuitton x Supreme sold a Pudsey Bear created for charity that eventually sold at £80k… it was for good cause though. The newest item that looks like it will be joining the ranks of insane resale prices is a pair of Chanel x adidas Originals trainers designed by Pharrell. Launched to celebrate the Parisian house’s takeover at fashion boutique colette – that officially closes its doors next month – there are only 500 pairs of the shoe and 120,000 people have already applied to get their hands on them. While they are set to sell for around £800, Pharrell told WWD that he thinks they will resell for as much as £30k. Crazy to him as, “At the end of the day, they’re just shoes.” Of course, this isn’t the singer’s first collaboration with Chanel – over the years he has been the face of a number of campaigns, walked in the Pre-Fall 2017 show and even wrote a song with Cara Delevingne for its Pre-Fall 2015 Salzburg show. While the 120,000 who have signed up wait to see if they are among the lucky few, we will see if Pharrell is on the money (not sorry) with his prediction.
