The designer’s model line-up – which included Instagram It-girl Gigi Hadid and Dazed cover star Lineisy Montero – walked down a boardwalk runway that lined a faux-ocean-come-enlarged-paddling-pool, before splashing around in said pool during the finale. “It's all about island life,” said Hilfiger. “With young people hiking and in the water and just having a good time.” The collection drew reference from the style of British tourist visiting the Carribean in the 1970s – notice the jacquard suiting and crochet hats. But there was also a reference to Rastafarianism too – in the red, yellow and green of the netted mesh vests, maxi dresses and bucket hats.
