It’s a touchdown: When you’re celebrating thirty years in the business, you can afford to have a little fun. For AW15 it was game on – the show was staged on a faux football field, stadium-style screens counting down dramatically as the show kicked off and Tommy Hilfiger’s team of models emerged from the locker room. Americana reworked: It was the perfect setting to play with the established codes of American sportswear. Football jerseys borrowed from boyfriends were reworked in leather and wool, while typical Americana fabrics – shearling, denim and flannel – were topped off with helmet motifs and partnered with wedge-heeled football boots. Inspired by iconic 70s actress Ali MacGraw, the collection served as a love story for the women of Hilfiger’s past, present and future, with the likes of Binx Walton, Anna Ewers, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn bringing it for today’s generation.
