FashionNewsVFILES unveils ‘the future of fashion’ with AW15 lineupThe fully crowdsourced runway show features designers plucked from all over the worldShareLink copied ✔️January 27, 2015FashionNewsTextZing TsjengVFILES MADE AW15 Designers Line-up Two months ago, VFiles took a deep breath and leapt into the unknown. The radical New York brand, store and online platform decided that it would throw open the doors of its upcoming AW15 show at New York Fashion Week and allow anybody to apply for a spot. Every single person involved in the VFiles Made fashion show would be crowdsourced from the internet, from the stylists, models and all the way up to the designers themselves. This week, the first results of that experiment are in. Here are the four designers who will present their collections under the VFiles banner: XIMONLEE, a menswear designer who has just graduated from Parsons; fellow Parsons grad Andrea Jiapei Li; Zurich-based designer Julia Seemann and cult Aussie label DI$COUNT UNIVER$E, who counts Katy Perry and Miley among its fans. VFiles describes them as "four young designers selected to represent the future of fashion". The chosen few were scrutinised by a judging panel that consisted of power stylist Mel Ottenberg; fashion editor Candy Pratts Price and Calvin Klein men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli. The show is set to kick off New York Fashion Week on February 11. Liked this?
