Original cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Kimmy Robertson, Harry Goaz, Dana Ashbrook, Miguel Ferrer and James Marshall make an appearance, as well as new recruits Chrysta Bell (Lynch’s musical collaborator), Robert Knepper, Amy Shiels and Jim Belushi. “It’s almost as if no time has passed,” observes Dana Ashbrook. Picking up in the sleepy Northwestern town marred by murder, mystery and sordidness, Kyle McLachlan describes the journey of the characters as “remarkable”, as Miguel Ferrer confirms, “big things happen”. Chrysta Bell tells viewers that they should “prepare to be a little out of your comfort zone in the best possible way”. A release of the full cast list earlier in the year showed the likes of Sherilyn Fenn, Sky Ferreira and Naomi Watts also involved in the production. The cult show is set for a late 2017 return to Showtime, 26 years after the original series ended. David Lynch has written, scored and directed the project.
