The “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume Kit” shows Kardashian gagged and tied up. Sold on the Costumeish website for $69.99, it includes a black wig, white robe, sunglasses, a gag, rope and ring. The description read: “She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewellery and her peace of mind.” It added: “This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media.” Because of legal issues, the site doesn’t directly name Kardashian West, but it’s pretty obvious the costume references the reality star’s recent ordeal, where she was held at gun point, bound, gagged and robbed of more than $10 million worth of jewellery in her Paris hotel room. Costumeish is the same company who released a “Bruce Gender” costume, in reference to Caitlyn Jenner’s transition. Since the company has been hit with a huge amount of backlash online for this latest offensive product, the founder Jonathon Weeks has agreed to refund the six people who bought the costume online. “I’m sad that people are offended by it, but it is Halloween: It’s one day out of the year,” Weeks said. “Halloween should be a light-hearted, spirited party and people should be able to laugh at it and think it’s funny.” Wow.
