With 24 per cent of Pornhub’s viewers now certifiably female, the ‘women don’t watch porn’ myth is in its final throes. After all, beneath all the soulless rutting and terrible acting, there’s actually a lot of variety out there. Dreamy avant-garde erotica? You got it. Hoverboard porn? You’re welcome. Despite popular belief, women are watching – and really enjoying – all different kinds of pornography. 

With this in mind, it makes sense that Pornhub has decided to make its new ‘Insights’ study all about women. Using information pulled from its 60 million daily visitors, the world’s biggest wank bank has examined female viewing habits across the globe – and the results are pretty surprising. For example, although the most popular search term in North, Central and South America is “lesbian”, Russia bucks the trend by being very, very big on their anal. See above for the whole map.

The site has broken down viewing stats country by country. Here’s Europe:

As you can see here, the UK (and basically everywhere else) really loves their lesbians. German and Turkish women, however, opt for the 18+ “teen” category, while Serbians and Macedonians prefer things to be a little more “mature”. Kazakhstan just loves big dick.

As for Asia, “Hentai” is the big trend for the majority of eastern women – topping the charts of China, Japan and Korea. Down to the South, it gets more about the “teens” again, though the preferred gender is left a mystery.

As for most other countries, “lesbians” were so popular that it’s barely worth dissecting the data. However, Pornhub did divulge a little more about each country’s more niche sexual viewing habits. For example, within the US, Californian women are much more likely to search for “Big Tits” than the rest of the country, with Alaskans gunning for “Big Dicks”. As for the rest of the world, Argentinian women are 233 per cent more likely to use the search term “shemale”, while Vietnam, bizarrely, is 231 per cent more likely to look for “babes”. Whatever that means.
