But Ethan Persoff, creator of Spoken Word With Electronics, decided to use his time more productively: he coaxed his computer into reading out every porn film title chronicled in the 1984 book, Lary King’s Encyclopedic Guide to Adult Video Cassette Movies. Spoken Word With Electronics is an audio series made by Persoff which delivers two-sided recordings of ‘unusual’ stories paired with vintage modular sound electronics. “This week focuses on an independently produced book from 1984,” Persoff says on his website where he hosts the series: “Incidentally, 1984 is the stated end of The Golden Age of Porn and the titles included, which contain films from 1960-1984, don’t disappoint.” Persoff adds: “Porn at its best is very clever. This is from the time adult movies were scripted, filmed (not videotaped), and these movies contained some of the funniest titles imaginable.” Listen to the introduction of the episode here or to skip straight to the good stuff, listen to side A of the tape below which includes titles Adventures in Bondage through to Lesbians Galore.
