Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been defaced multiple times since 2016, but never quite as dramatically as it was yesterday, July 25, when a protester took it to pieces with a pickaxe. Reports say that the man arrived at the scene with a guitar case around 3am, from which he produced the axe, and began hacking away. Video footage has been released by TMZ, and to be honest, it looks like it was a lot of fun.

The star has been in place since 2007, when it was unveiled to mark Trump’s tenure as presenter of The Apprentice. It has since been subjected to a number of protests, for example when James Otis hacked off Trump’s name, and when an activist group erected a wall around the star, both in 2016.

A 24-year-old man named Austin Clay turned himself in to the police for felony vandalism shortly after destroying the star. A GoFundMe page has been launched to help him meet bail, and Otis (who previuosly vandalised the star) has also offered to help.

As the internet would say: The pickaxe is everything. We stan the pickaxe.
