Music / IncomingEastern ElectricsBloc prepare for their Eastern Electric Bank Holiday BlowoutShareLink copied ✔️April 28, 2010MusicIncomingText Kirsti Weir This year’s Bloc weekend was a sell out for the third year running thanks to headliners like Salt 'n' Pepa and numerous party crews bridging the gap across a multi-beat mash up. The final night saw Braindrop delivering their ridiculous bubble of rinse to Red Bloc on the final day with Raffertie and Kanji Kinetic shining bright, topped off with a triumphant performance from techno legend Derrick May in the main arena. So, to celebrate another year of these exemplary beats, Bloc are getting back together with Eastern Electrics for one of the latter’s only three parties this year in exclusive and unique spaces in London. For this Bloc have selected players to represent the cross section of sounds that form the festival with headliner Ellen Allien returning from Berlin, a firm favourite in London for minimal techno heads, then Rag ‘n’ Bone are represented again with prime rave and bass cuts from Warlock and true original acid house from Placid responsible for the web resource Acid-House.net maintaining the 303 euphoria. Then to mix the beats up even more, purveying the future sound of dubstep is Shackleton whose sets are known for their melded cross-genre beats and bass extremes supported by Ramadanman whose label Hessle Audio is credited for pioneering the merging of dubstep and techno home to the first releases for TRG and Pangaea. Joining them are two of East London’s most loved promoters, Disco Bloodbath and Mulletover who are bringing, among others, contemporary Detroit house bastion Omar S and dark floor minimalist Ivan Smagghe.BLOC Room: Ellen Allien (BPitch), Shackleton (Perlon), Ramadanman (Soul Jazz), BLOC DJsDisco Bloodbath Room: It's a Fine Line (Ivan Smagghe & Tim Paris), Still Going (DFA), Dan Beaumont (Dalston Superstore), Damon Martin (Disco Bloodbath), Ben Pistor (Gold Dust)Mulletover Room: DJ Sneak (X-Mix) Omar S (FXHE) Andre Galluzzi (Cocoon), Geddes (Murmur)Union Car Park , Great Suffolk Street , SE1 0NS. 2nd May - Bank Holiday Sunday 2010, 9pm – 7am.
