According to a statement released by the police department, Scott has been accused of escalating the situation “into a physical altercation”. They claim Travis Scott “punched the victim with a closed fist on the left side of the face,” resulting in officers being called to the nightclub at around 3:25am. He then proceeded to allegedly smash the club up and cause $12,000 worth of damage – all in an evening’s work! A statement released by Scott’s lawyer Mitchell Schuster claimed that the incident “is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation.” If it weren’t for the video evidence of Scott clearly getting involved in a heated argument prior to the alleged assault and damage, there might be a case for a passing argument in the heat of the performance, but it’s not looking great. The artist has kept a relatively low profile in recent years, following the events of 2021’s tragic Astroworld crush in which 10 people lost their lives. Though the fatal crush was not a direct result of his own actions and there were other factors at play, Scott’s history of irresponsibly managing his crowds has made him a source of controversy for years.
