ABBA’s first ever Christmas single, ‘Little Things’, is on the way

The track appears on the Swedish group’s new album, Voyage, and is expected to receive some festive visuals

ABBA have announced their first ever Christmas single, coming on the back of their first new album in 40 years, Voyage. Titled “Little Things”, the song appears on the recently-released album, and will also receive a CD release next month, on December 3.

Appropriately, “Little Things” is described as a “gentle reflection on the joy of Christmas morning and family time around this special time of year” (very wholesome). “Maybe something for the Christmas stocking?”, the reformed group adds of the physical release in a recent Instagram post.

A music video is also expected to arrive along with the official single, with the Swedish band telling fans to “watch this space”. Reindeer-themed artwork has already been unveiled via social media (see below).

Last week, ABBA landed a number one album with Voyage, which also became the fastest-selling vinyl release of the century. The new music will be showcased in a “revolutionary” concert series featuring digital versions of the group (AKA ‘ABBA-tars’ — not holograms), starting spring 2022 at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Take a deeper look inside ABBA’s long-awaited reunion in Dazed’s interview with the group here, and revisit their cinematic high points here.
