Ariana Grande is giving away more free therapy

This time, $5 million worth

Back in June, Ariana Grande announced that she was partnering with mental health organisation BetterHelp to give away $1 million (£734k) worth of therapy to her fans. Now, she’s back, and she’s upped her game, this time giving an eye-watering $5 million (£367k).

Marking World Mental Health Day yesterday (October 10), Grande wrote on Instagram: “I’m beyond thrilled to team up with BetterHelp again to give away up to $5 million in free therapy. I acknowledge that there are very real barriers when it comes to accessing mental health resources, and while this is only one small gesture (and a much larger systemic problem remains), I wanted to do this again in hopes of bringing access to a few more people and perhaps inspiring a few of you to try something new and prioritise your own healing.”

Those who sign up will get one month of free therapy, with the option of continuing for a second month with a 15 per cent discount.

Grande spoke about the importance of mental health awareness and care on Instagram in May, sharing a handful of infographics and resources. “Here’s to ending the stigma around mental health and normalising asking for health,” she said at the time. “Healing isn’t linear, fun, quick, or easy at all, but we are here and we’ve got to commit to making this time as healthy, peaceful, and beautiful as possible. The work is so hard but we are capable and worth it.”

In other Grande news, the singer is starring in Adam McKay’s pre-apocalypse satire film, which is set to premiere on Netflix on December 24. You can watch her in the teaser, alongside co-stars Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, and Kid Cudi, here.
