Lil Nas X becomes pro-skater after Tony Hawk gives him lessonThe pair took to a half-pipe together after pulling similar blood stuntsShareLink copied ✔️August 31, 2021August 31, 2021TextFelicity Martin Lil Nas X is a professional skateboarder now, if you didn’t know. The queer rapper and icon has teamed up with Tony Hawk on a TikTok skating video, where he glides down a ramp seamlessly and pulls tricks and stunts capable of a seasoned pro. “Hey, I’m Lil Nas X, and today I’m gonna be doing some airs, maybe a McTwist – let’s go!” he says in the video, before showing off his ‘skills’ on the ramp. The link-up comes after Hawk announced a limited, (now sold-out) run of 100 skateboards painted with his own blood. Lil Nas X then addressed the double standards after his attempt to release a pair of ‘Satan shoes’ with real human blood resulted in Nike taking legal action: “Now that Tony Hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? And maybe u were mad for some other reason?” However, it’s clear there’s no bad blood between the pair. The phrase “nah he tweakin’”, used by Lil Nas X to describe Hawk, has since been going viral on social media, sparking a wave of people using it in the Instagram comments section. The video ends with Lil Nas telling fans: “that’s how you skateboard”, while Hawk in the background yells “tweakin’!” as he skates away. The rapper’s debut album Montero arrives on September 17. Writing on Twitter, Lil Nas X said that “creating this album has been therapy for me. I’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who I am, what I can do, and where I will be. I’ve realised the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.” Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
