Frank Ocean will lead the Coachella 2023 line-up

It will be the musician’s first confirmed live performance since 2017

Cast your mind back to the before times when coronavirus hadn’t yet swept across the world and Coachella had just announced its 2020 lineup. The headliners were Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and Rage Against The Machine.

The festival president Paul Tollett has since announced that all three of those headliners will still head Coachella, with RATM and Travis Scott confirmed for next year’s edition. Frank Ocean, who isn’t available for the 2022 dates, is booked for 2023.

“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Tollett told the Los Angeles Times. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

While 2023 might feel lightyears away, the booking marks Ocean’s first confirmed live performance since 2017. The artist has kept a relatively low profile since his 2019 offerings “DHL” and “In My Room”, bar the release of double A-side single “Dear April” and “Cayendo” last year.

Elsewhere it was reported that Ocean has been working on a “secret” project with Call Me By Your Name filmmaker Luca Guadagnino – but no further news has surfaced on the project since.
