The Lower East Side apartment where Lady Gaga lived in the early days of her career is up for rent. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment comes with 10-foot high ceilings, a bathtub, a skylight, and a fridge in the middle of the living room – a classic New York real estate feature – and can all be yours for $2,000 a month. Located on 176 Stanton Place, the apartment is where Lady Gaga lived from 2005- 2007 leading up to the release of her debut album The Fame. Maybe if you’re lucky some of the creative energy will be lingering around the walls still and you’ll be inspired to write your own Grammy award-winning album. You will have to deal with many other little monsters, however, as the apartment has become a shrine for Gaga fans who make the pilgrimage uptown and leave scrawlings dedicated to their idol on the front door. But you could make the best of it and see it as a great opportunity to make new friends with similar interests to you. Gaga herself has even made the trip back to her old flat several times since trading up for a substantially pricier $22K a month Central Park South place. In a 2011 interview with Anderson Cooper the two revisited her old neighbourhood and building, although the tenant at the time wouldn’t allow them in to see the actual flat. Just think – that could be you turning away Lady Gaga. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
