Donald Glover has made a return to Twitter to share information about an upcoming music project, slated to be his “biggest” to date.
“Last music project was probably my best,” Glover writes, presumably referencing the Ariana Grande and 21 Savage-featuring 3.15.20, which was released under his Childish Gambino moniker back in March this year. “But the one coming will be my biggest by far.”
There’s even more good news, though. The musician, actor, and showrunner also used his rare appearance on social media to tease coming seasons of Atlanta, which was set to return in January 2021, before production was pushed back due to coronavirus. Not pulling any punches when it comes to building anticipation, Glover writes: “while im here: ‘atlanta’ s3+s4 are going to be some of the best television ever made. sopranos only ones who can touch us.”
Given the shapeshifting nature of Glover’s career so far, it’s difficult to predict what new music could sound like, though he does namecheck Tierra Whack, 21 Savage, Baby Keem, and his brother Steve G. Lover as some current favourites in another post, adding: “but azealia is the best.”
Wrapping up the stream of tweets (a welcome break from those of the other Donald), Glover writes: “there is a lot (of magic) comin. yall thought i was hot in 2018.”
