The follow-up to 2016’s Take Her Up to Monto (with a series of 12” collaborations with Maurice Fulton in between), Róisín Machine was produced in collaboration with Sheffield producer Richard Barratt (AKA Crooked Man AKA DJ Parrot AKA one half of bleep techno legends Sweet Exorcist and more), who Murphy has been working with on-and-off for years; the full-length result of this collaboration is a record of eccentric disco-house – sweatbox music for home discos. Elsewhere this week, BLACKPINK deliver their long-awaited debut, Shamir stuns with their self-titled seventh album, and 21 Savage and Metro Boomin get together for their second Savage Mode album.
