Kanye West is being sued by MyChannel, Inc, which describes itself as a Black-owned tech company, for breaching an agreement they had in place and for failing to pay for its services, according to a report by TMZ.

According to the report, MyChannel claims that West started working with the company in Spring 2018, hoping to increase revenue from his clothing company Yeezy Apparel. MyChannel say that they provided these services for six months based on “a series of business promises”, such as a later $10 million investment.

Pitchfork additionally reports that MyChannel allege in the lawsuit that the company did $7 million in work for Yeezy, which was never paid for. They also claim to have moved their headquarters from Pennsylvania to Calabasas and Chicago (the former West’s place of residence, the latter his hometown) so that they could work with him. The lawsuit states that West rebranded the company as YZY Tech during business meetings with companies like adidas, and presented “ideas such as those of (MyChannel) as his own”.

According to the lawsuit, MyChannel claim that West was only interested in using its technology for his Sunday Services, using a copied version of their tech to sell merch after their talks fell apart. The company is seeking over $20 million in damages.
