As pointed out by NME, the teaser shows footage from her tours, studio sessions, and day-to-day life during the making of the album, back in the pre-COVID days. SAWAYAMA, which came out in April this year, saw the pop singer embrace influences from her teenage years, with nu-metal riffs and Neptunes-esque production. In the trailoer for The Making Of SAWAYAMA, she expresses concerns that some fans wouldn’t appreciate the shift. “It’s scary to alienate some people,” she says. “The sound has definitely changed. It’s quite sad and angry, and it kind of reflects my overall feelings towards the world. You just never know. People are savage online, you know?” Revisit our interview with the singer discussing the influences behind SAWAYAMA. The Making of SAWAYAMA does not currently have a release date.
