It’s no secret that Southern Californians are a little more familiar with the sun than their London-based friends, enjoying close to double the sunshine hours in any given year. Appropriate, then, that the Southern California lifestyle brand UGG is coming to the English capital to teach us what they know about the golden glowing orb that occasionally graces our cloudy skies.

UGG’s new project, Sunroom, takes the California sun as a jumping off point to explore how light shapes our mood and perceptions, via an immersive experience that incorporates local culture and communities. The London-based music collective Nine8, which works with sound and live performance, will shape the tone and rhythms of this experience by tapping into the city’s grassroots creative scenes, as well as some bigger musical names.

On May 15, things will kick off with an invite-only evening of workshops led by Nine8, as well as a DJ set from Rickinzi. Zara Larsson will also perform live, ahead of a closing DJ set by Reenie.

May 16, meanwhile, will see things open up to the public. Running across the entire day, hands-on workshops, including a cyanotype collage lab, accessory customisation, and a collaborative live sound and beat-making studio, will invite visitors to connect and explore the Sunroom. Live performances, sound experiences, and DJ sets will come courtesy of JJESS, Nine8, Sasha Keable, and ELLADHC.

Needless to say, visitors will also get to experience the aptly-named UGG Golden Collection, shaped for SS26. Tailor-made for summer, the collection extends the brand’s footwear into the warmer months (which can’t come fast enough, tbh). Hopefully, the Sunroom sets an example for the dreary British climate, and we have a glorious summer ahead of us.

The UGG Sunroom will be open at Boiler House, 152 Brick Ln, London E1 6RU on May 15 (invite only) and May 16 (public). Head here to sign up.
