In case you were wondering, Britney Spears hasn’t been in her gym for six months because she burnt it down. In an Instagram post yesterday (April 29), the singer revealed that “one thing led to another” with two candles and the whole thing went up in flames. That hasn’t deterred our quarantine queen though, who has blessed us with her workout routine.
Accompanying the two-minute clip – which sees Spears offer her expertise on lunging, weights, and abs – is a lengthy caption offering further context about the fire. “It was an accident… but yes I burnt it down,” the musician wrote. “I walked past the door to the gym and flames BOOM!!!!!! By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt.”
Spears continued: “Unfortunately, now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!! But it could be much worse so I’m grateful. Pssss I like working out better outside anyways!!!!”
Gyms aren’t the only thing Spears is burning down – the singer is also setting fire to capitalism as a newly-revealed advocate for socialist reform. Last month, Spears shared an Instagram post by writer Mimi Zhu supporting a general strike and the redistribution of wealth during the coronavirus crisis.
The post read: “During this time of isolation, we need connection now more than ever. Call your loved ones, write virtual love letters. We will learn to kiss and hold each other through the waves of the web. We will feed each other, re-distribute wealth, strike. Communion moves beyond walls. We can still be together.”
The comrade has also offered assistance to people struggling during the pandemic, telling fans: “DM me and I will help you out.” This week (April 28), fans showed their gratitude to Spears by remaking her “Toxic” video scene-by-scene on Animal Crossing. Watch below.
