Yaeji drops new merch, exclusively on Animal Crossing

The DJ revealed a line of patterned jumpers, plaid skirts, and beanies on the role-playing game

As people continue to use Animal Crossing in new and innovative ways, from reimagining music videos to recreating high fashion looks, it is now the Korean-American DJ Yaeji who has hopped in on the trend, dropping a new line of merch exclusively on the role-playing game.

A long time player of Animal Crossing herself, Yaeji revealed the virtual collection this weekend, through a live stream of her playing the game on the streaming platform Twitch.

Taking her followers to a secret waterfall in the Animal Crossing-verse, the Dazed 100 alum debuted an array of emblazoned jumpers, plaid skirts, and beanies, all modelled by her own personal avatar – sporting those signature round glasses, of course.

Made in collaboration with stylist Monica Kim, the custom looks are based on the musician’s music videos and IRL merch pieces. A beige jumper detailed with a cartoon animal, which is exclusive to the game, was inspired by her animated music video, “WAKING UP DOWN”, while a green sweater patterned with pink doodles is a recreation of a look worn by Yaeji in her “What We Drew” video.

Taking to Twitter to share screenshots of the pieces, the house DJ wrote: “thank you for tuning into twitch stream!! for those of u who missed it, monica and i shared custom outfit designs based on my merch and music videos.”

As Animal Crossing continues to rise in popularity, Yaeji is not the only one exploring and pushing the game’s creative bounds. Elsewhere, Queer Eye star Bobby Berk, AKA the ‘design doctor’, took to the game to give people tips on how to decorate their desert style houses.
