Thom Yorke on tour: an exclusive, frenetic photographic diary

The Radiohead frontman has just announced more tour dates on his solo run

Thom Yorke is racing his way into 2020. The Radiohead frontman, who kicked off his Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes solo tour in October, has just announced an additional two US dates in Phoenix and Sacramento, before he makes his way to Europe for the remaining shows.

The 51-year-old, who is up for four GRAMMY nominations, is touring his third solo album ANIMA, which dropped last year with an accompanying short film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Since then, the musician has released a slew of singles, including “Daily Battles”, for Edward Norton’s film Motherless Brooklyn, as well as versions of his old tracks “Hearing Damage”, “What the Eyeballs Did”, “S.A.D.”, and “Magic Beanz”.

Joining Yorke on his US tour was photographer Sean Evans, who describes the experience as a “sight to behold”. He adds: “It was a fun show to make images of. There was always such great mood and depth.”
