The R&B singer was speaking in a new interview with Kerwin Frost. During the conversation, she also discussed hitting the studio with some pretty A+ names, including Justin Timberlake, Post Malone, Jack Antonoff, and Brockhampton (although this doesn’t necessarily mean that the collaborations will be on the album). She also shared an anecdote about working with JT. “Before I was like, ‘What the fuck am I doing in the studio with Justin Timberlake right now?’” she says to Frost. “But when I heard his music and we started singing together... It’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language. The same frequency.’ I understood where he was going before he could finish a run.” SZA also admitted that the new album will be “even more of me being less afraid”. Watch the full interview below.
