The musician surprise dropped the release date – August 30 – and chaotic artwork for her forthcoming sixth studio album. LDR shared the cover art on both her Instagram and Twitter today (July 31), photographed by her sister Chuck Grant, to mass fandom hysteria. The cover shows the musician in full Americana glory at the helm of a star spangled flag-bearing ship, neon yellow-nailed hands outstretched, ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ emblazoned on the cover in pop art print. She has her arm around Duke Nicholson – an actor who appeared most recently in Jordan Peele’s Us, who is also incidentally Jack Nicholson’s grandson. Del Rey also shared the tracklist, featuring already released singles like released “Mariners Apartment Complex”, “Venice Bitch”, and “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it”. Fans have expressed delight at the inclusion of “The Next Best American Record”, known otherwise as “Architecture”, an unreleased song recorded sometime between early 2016 to November 2016 that leaked in February 2017. The demo was assumed to be an outtake from her previous LP Lust for Life. Del Rey first announced the album last September, and has been performing some unheard songs thought to be from the album as far back as December. The album is produced with her frequent collaborator, Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff.
