The musical protégé features on Beyoncé’s track “Brown Skin Girl” (from her album The Lion King: The Gift), which has debuted at number 76 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The song, which also features SAINt JHN and Wizkid, is a celebration of dark skinned girls and opens and closes with Blue Ivy’s very sweet vocals. This isn’t the fledgling singer’s first foray into the music industry though, having made her rap debut on her dad’s 2017 track “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” from his album 4:44. Blue Ivy also recently appeared in Beyoncé’s visuals for “Spirit” and “Bigger”, both taken from her The Lion King-inspired album. Although it’s an exciting feat, Blue Ivy will have to drop a lot more tracks to match her parents’ Hot 100 achievements, with Beyoncé charting 63 times – reaching the top spot 10 times – and Jay-Z making 100 appearances on the list, as well as hitting number one four times. Blue Ivy has established herself as somewhat of a legend in the public eye over the past few years, cemented by her sublime diva behaviour at the 2018 Grammys where she gracefully suggested her parents shut the hell up while Camila Cabello delivered a speech. Given she’s already killing it and hasn’t hit double digits yet, there’s no doubt Blue Ivy is going to do some sick things. TBF we’d expect nothing less from the daughter of the king and queen.
