Sleater-Kinney reveal an album release date and new lyric video

Listen to the new track from the St. Vincent-produced record, The Center Won’t Hold

The post-riot grrrl punk trio Sleater-Kinney have been teasing new music for a while now, posting cryptic lyrics on Twitter and NYC billboards, and then revealing a Miranda July-directed iPhone music video titled “Hurry On Home”.

The biggest teaser, though, was an Instagram post of the band – Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss – with St. Vincent in the studio earlier this year. It’s now been revealed that the singer was producing a whole album with them, the forthcoming The Center Won’t Hold.

The new album will be out August 16, released on Mom + Pop, and will be their first since the 2015 record No Cities To Love.

If you can’t wait that long for new music though, Sleater-Kinney have got you covered. Along with the announcement they released a new track titled “The Future Is Here” (with an accompanying lyric video). Watch below.
