Cardi B found out about her five Grammy nominations in a pretty weird way

‘I need a do over’

Cardi B has been nominated for five Grammys – mostly thanks to her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, which picked up four of the five nominations – but she didn’t find out in the way she would have expected.

Reporters told Cardi of her nominations as she exited an NYC courthouse, where she’d been attending a court date for her alleged involvement in a fight at New York’s Angels Strip Club (she turned herself over to police in October). In response, she could only shout back at the paparazzi as she was whisked away by security, and – in the caption to a video later posted on her Twitter – she wrote: “I need a do over”.

Invasion of Privacy has earned Cardi B nominations in the Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album categories. The fifth comes from her feature on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You”, which is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
